Day 60: State Hospital Thicket

February 25th -- Day 60: three little runs on the Rebounds on an extremely gimpy knee. I'd love to keep going -- and had planned on going to 75 days, but the seriousness of the knee problem means I'm going to have to take a week off to get the swelling down.
Hopefully, the season isn't done but 60 days straight and 66 total ain't half bad.

Day 59: State Hospital Thicket

One very careful run on the rebounds -- thanks for the Darvocet, Aunt Becky!!

Day 58: The Homestead

Well, it was all going aong so well...

Beautiful day, warm temps & blue skies....but the knee went ugly. After many alpine runs, I twisted the my injured knee while teaching a snowboard lesson. Four days of recovery down the drain and twice as much swelling. Back to the ice and ibubrofen.

Day 57: The Homestead

The knee is still on the mend -- deecent alpine skiing in the sun, plus a little snowboarding.

Day 56: State Hospital Thicket

Just some gentle up/downs on the Rebounds. Knee actually felt okay -- still not right, but better.

Day 55: Hickory Hills

Just a gentle few alpine runs on the Shadows -- it was a wonderful powder day, but my knee was still in recovery mode from its tweak last night. Ski Buddy Craig, a physical therapist, to a look and found the issue to be a re-aggravation of prior damage. Good news for the sort term, but for the future I'll need to do some off-season work to build strength in that knee. In other news, Craig's Line Prophet 100s may have set the record at Hickory for the fattest skis ever on the hill.

Day 54: Crystal Mountain -- TeleTuesday

Great night of skiing -- new Zipfit liner spats help me reconnect with the teleboots, so many great high speed and powder runs with the gang. Only problem was a last run wipeout that gave me a bit of a knee tweak - not so serious that I couldn't get off the hill, but scary all the same. Still assessing the damage, but hopefully just a little sprain of the ACL.

Day 53: Hickory Hills

Many rapid passes on the Fischer Sceneos -- I forgot that these are pretty nice skis.

Day 52: The Homestead

After an hour and a half drive in on icy roads, time spent of the hill in the freezing rain was limited to a couple of runs of the Fischer Sceneos and on the snowboard for a two hour father/son lesson.

Day 51: The Homestead

A lovely couple hours ski with Craig and Breena to start the Presidents Day weekend -- I've continue to get my telegroove on with my Rossis.

Day 50: Crystal Mountain

Powder Day!! Out the door by 8 a.m. to get the early chairs at Crystal. A clean and bright bluebird day highlighted by some great runs down the powerline chute.

Day 49: Timberlee

A casual poach of the long dormant ski hill -- just a little skinning up a ways for a nice powder float down.

Day 48: Hickory Hills

A triumphant return to The Hick -- just a few casual laps on the groomers watching the GTSC drills.

Day 47: State Hospital Thicket

As close as I've come to skiing perfection lately -- I almost felt graceful as the Rebounds turned perfectly in the ideal downhill snow (maybe not so ideal climbing uphill).
